Shifting the Culture around Menstruation
For many of us, menstruation has been shrouded in shame, secrecy and taboo for so many generations that we accept that it is a curse, without question. Because of this many health problems related to the menstrual cycle are not dealt with, but are suffered silently and with shame, as if they are somehow a woman’s fault.
There are women who cherish the rhythms of their menstrual cycle, celebrate menarche and view menstruation as a powerful, magical, and eminently positive experience. Menstruation is not inherently a bad thing, we have the power to transform our attitudes and experiences into positive and enriching ones.
We can get to know and make friends with our cycling bodies; help our daughters achieve a healthy menstrual attitude .
